Marijke Bertrand-Holthuijzen

Since her childhood in the Netherlands, Marijke Bertrand-Holthuijzen has been immersed in an environment of art. Both her parents were art amateurs and her mother is also an artist (in ceramics). 

With a master's degree in Art History, she understood very young, that culture, music, and history of the arts were essential in understanding the world around us. 

Marijke lived in Mexico City for two years, also in the United Kingdom (Sussex) for one year, and then settled down in Paris where she now lives since 1992, making France her second home. She got married and had two children to whom she transmitted her intercultural philosophy and spirit, by raising them with both Dutch and French nationalities and cultures.

Through experiencing different cultures and learning different languages, she became a natural Intercultural Ambassador, and to this day, Marijke still passionately transmits this cultural knowledge to various audiences. 

Creative and inspired by Arts and Culture, she founded Speak & Fun, giving children from 3 to 18 the ability and willingness to practice the English language, using different artistic methods such as painting & sculpture, music & songs, architecture, fashion, but also games & cooking..

For over 30 years, she has given art conferences and guided tours in various Parisian museums and other cultural institutions.
